  • Help with Ripjaws F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH

Please somebody help me.....is it possible to combine 2x1GB 1333mhz Geil memory (DDR3-1333 CL 7-7-7-24 1.5v) with 2x2GB 2000mhz G SKILL Ripjaws (F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH 1.6v)? When I tried this few hours ago without messing anything in bios or overclocking, leaving most of it on auto, the memory voltage skyrocketed to 1.8v by itself. Ripjaws were in slots 1 & 3, Geil in 2 & 4. I had geil dimms and wanted to pair them up with G skill before buying another Ripjaws kit in the near future. Thanks.

Btw, what settings should I use for Ripjaws to operate on 1600 or 2000mhz, without overclocking anything else? Without geils of course.

With regards to the F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH G.Skill and voltage...mine isn't stable above 1.6v. But running 4 sticks at 1.58v is solid at 9-9-9-24 and stock speed. You should be able to back the G.Skill voltage down to meet that of the Geil along with timings and speed. No idea if mixing memory like that would work or not...I'd guess no, just because (plus you didn't mention the CPU or motherboard).

Sorry for not mentioning the setup, motherboard is GIGABYTE P55-UD3 with core i5 750. What settings should I use for Ripjaws F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH alone to operate on 2000mhz. Default in bios is 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v.

P.S. I guess i did not damage anything for operating few minutes on 1.8v? Right?

for mixing memory, we'd recommend you to run default first

if you would like to run our ripjaws only, you could set BIOS this way:

        CPU bclk: 200
        CPU ratio: 14
        CPU Core voltage: 1.2v
        DRAM frequency: 2000
        DRAM voltage: 1.6v
        CPU VTT voltage: 1.3v
        tCL: 9
        tRCD: 9
        tRP: 9
        tRAS: 24
        Command Rate: 2N

        thanks
