  • Latency F3-12800CL8D at 1333MHz

    Hello all,
    i have this configuration :

    ram : ram 4GB ddr3 1600 CL8 F3-12800CL8D
    processor : intel i5 750
    motherboard : asus p7p55d

For the moment i don't want to overclock my processor so i dediced to run my ram at 1333 MHz like core i5 750 default setting. I would like to adjust my cas latency to obtein better performace

Actually the ram is running at 1333MHz 8-8-8-24 command rate 2N
    The question is :

can i set 7-7-7-xx command 2N leaving the system stable ?

    thanks in advance

From the base timings you show, guessing it's the Ripjaws as opposed to the Tridents, so you could try try 7-7-7-21 or 24 or maybe even 7-8-8-21 or 24. If those won't run stable could try 7-7-7-21 at 1200 which I think would run okay and possibly even be a hair faster than the stock timings at 1333.

      thank you for the answer.
My ram are the tridents one.
I set up 7-7-7-24 and it seem to work good; is better 7-7-7-24 or 7-7-7-21 ?
How can i test stability ? Just run it in daily usage ?
      thank you so much

You could run memtest on the sticks (individually or together) to see if the timings are causing problems.
As far as your timings the lower numbers are better (or tightening the timings), raising the numbers is refereed to as loosening the timings (=lower performance)
