  • 12800CL9Q-16GBRL DRAM Voltage Increments

    Motherboad: MSI 790FX-GD70
    CPU: AMD Phenom II 965BE @ 3.4GHZ
    Memory:F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL

    Hello,

I recently bought some G.Skill RipJaw 16G 4GBX4 for my MSI 790FX-GD70 board and overclocked the memory to 1666 and set the timings at 9-9-9-24 with DRAM Voltage to 1.8 starting out. I booted into Windows 7 and working fine. I just wanted to know what increments should I take down the voltage to get to 1.5v or close to it?

    Thank you for any help,

    - Noja

Okay, I went ahead and lowered the DRAM voltage by .5 until I got to 1.61, that is as low as it will go. So my setings are the following and lets me boot to Windows 7 no problem, no BSODs.

    1:4 - 1666 mem frequency
9-9-9-24 timings as it stats on the mem cards and package
1.61V for DRAM Voltage, won't let me go any lower to 1.5
    2T

Please let me know if these settings are ideal or if you have any more pointers.

    Thanks in advance,

if it works fine with these setting, we'd recommend you o keep those settings
some AMD motherboards do not have options to choose under 1.6v
      thanks
