  • Trident F3 17066CL9D 4x2GB on GA-P55-UD6 rev 1.0

    CPU - I7-860 (2.8ghz)
    Mobo - Gigabyte P55-UD6 (rev 1.0)
    Mem - Trident F3 17066CL9D 4GBTDS x2sticks (8GB Dual Channel)

Trying to get above 1600mhz if possible

    Anyway
the memory is rated to 2133 and the mobo supports above 1600 but any adjustment of the actual memory speed above 1600 results in constant restarting

Manuals never help in respect to what BIOS settings actually do and in general i'm pretty cluey with PC's, Hardware and Software, but speed/timing settings are not my forte.

I've tried straight bumping the Memory speed to 2133 with XMP turned on, which is the only way to do it, XMP turned off and the memory will only go to 1600
the system becomes unstable with the Auto settings of XMP1

      No love

at 2000 speed thought i'd go that first. with the above settings
when clicking on Save and Exit from the bios the computer goes through it's cycle of rebooting then when it's about to get to the bios post it just reboots again and errors due to overclocking your computer has not booted properly for safety your setting shave been reset to default and it subsequently resets the settings to 1333 speed.

I can run stable at 1600

I used your settings with the
BLCK set at 167 which is 2004mhz memory speed
and the voltages on the Gigabyte P55 boards atleast on the UD5 and UD6 the voltages can only be set to even amounts ie the closet voltage i could get is either 1.64v or 1.66v irreltevant though cause the same result comes from either of those

      CPU PLL i tried 1.800 and 1.900
Load Line Calibrator there is no Disabled setting so i left that as standard then adjusted the values above

CPU CLock ratio was 16-17x which amounted to about 2.8Ghz ish
Adjusted the memory timings as indicated

      Any other ideas?

OK an update i manged to get 2004 to work with the following settings

        Advanced Frequency Settings
        CPU Frequency ................................. 2.84Ghz (167x17)
        QPI Clock Ratio ................................ [Auto]
        QPI Link Speed ................................. 5.34GHz
        Uncore Clock Ratio ............................ 18x
        Uncore Frequency ............................. 3006MHz
        BLCK Control .................................... [Enabled]
        BLCK Frequency ................................ [167]
        XMP PRofile ....................................... [Profile 1]
        System Multiplier .............................. [12.0]
        Memory Frequency ............................ 2004
        PCI .................................................. [Auto or 100]
        C.I.A.2 ............................................ [Disabled]
        CPU Clock Drive ............................... [800mV]
        PCI Express Clock ............................. [900mV]
        CPU Skew Clock ................................ [0mV]

        Advanced Core Features
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Tech .................. [Disabled]
        CPU Cores Enabled ............................ [All]
        CPU Multi Threading .......................... [Enabled]
        C3/C6/C7 State Support ................... [Auto]
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) ................... [Auto]
        C3/C6/C7 State Support .................... [Auto]
        CPU Thermal Monitor ......................... [Auto]
        CPU EIST Function ............................ [Disabled]

Advanced memory Settings - Auto set by previous settings
        DDR Voltage ..................................... [1.65v]
        QPI Voltage ...................................... [1.1v]
Memory Timings are 9,9,9,23 - CMD Rate 2

        Motherboard Voltage - Set automatically

        Miscellaneous Settings
        Isochronus Support ........................... [Disabled]
        Virtualisation ..................................... [Enabled]

anyways i can't get beyond 2004 now or overclock the CPU more than a few mhz it has been running stable at 2004 for the past 24hrs even under dual gaming load.
