i just built 3 computers this week for myself and 2 friends.
2 of the computers are as follows:
GIGABYTE MB GA-P55M-UD2
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz
and the other computer is running:
GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6
Intel Core i7 860 2.8Ghz
both computers have windows 7 x64 ultimate.
all 3 computers have the same problem.
-random shutdowns.
-sometimes a memory dump is performed. when it does the error from windows is a "kernal power 41 error"
-biggest issue i find is that running prime 95 .... it usually fails within first 15 minutes on all cpu cores
i first started bios settings using xmp profile 1 for the ram... everything else was set to default settings. then i tried applying the settings from this thread:
http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=2230
then i tried my own trial and error on various settings.
yet i'm still getting the usual crashes and prime 95 keeps failing.
if i run the ram on auto settings and slower timings... the computers run fine including a stable prime 95 (ran for at least an hour).
these memory modules are advertised as running at 7-7-7-24 @ 1600.... yet no matter what i try they absolutely do not seem to want to run stable at these given settings. what am i missing here? is there something wrong with the ram? i can understand possibly having problems with one of the sticks on a single computer.... but all 3 computers are behaving the same.
looking for help... i'm getting to the point where i'd rather just return these and go with another manufacturer.
very disappointed user here.
