  • What memory to buy?

Hi i'm finally going upgrade my pc memory i've been stuck with 2 gig of ocz gold edition 10666 ddr3 on vista 64 for a bit which kills my pc at times, but i'm not sure what is the best to get i have a evga nforce790i ultra sli mobo which supports 8 gig and q9550 processor if that any help. I'm thinking of going for 4 gig for now and if the stuff good upgrade to 8 gig, got a bit of spare cash so not worried about the price. I use the pc for gaming which i run muliti accounts etc and muliti task so really want the best, but there are so many type of memory on here not got a clue what to choose.

    Thanks for your help.

As of a couple weeks ago the standard speed for the P6T was 1333 and ASUS showed it capable up through 2000 w/ OC. I would expect there'll be a BIOS upgrade within 2 months to raise the standard to 1600, so I'd suggest 1600 or above. Even if you don't plan on overclocking you can still go with a faster speed RAM, and downclock it with tighter timings so there will be no real loss of performance and possibly even show a slight gain gain.
If you go 2000 I'd look at

        or @ 1600 maybe

Well as fast as possible to be honest i doubt i overclock it for now, but from looking at the spec of my mobo http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/...32-CK-NF79.pdf does that mean i can only go up to 1333? or do i need to sli memory to go higher?

ive not got a clue with memory so that why im posting but no one will give me a make/model anywhere i don't care about the price just want it to last as 2 gig is killing my pc on vista 64

Thats what I was thinking to take 2000 Mhz RAM and then have better latency.
What is better ripjaws or Perfect storm ?

For the P6T, the Trident 2000 or RipJaws 2000 would work great. You can overclock them 2200+ @ rated timings or downclock to 1600+ for CL6/7 timings. Can't go wrong with that.

Ok will look into those, have few friend they have same rams, those are pretty popular.
BTW, any chance you could speed up your website and to be maybe little better organized. thanks

Will anything above 16000 work on P6T motherboard ? I love that cooling system on 18400

What do you mean by better organized for the website? Give me suggestions so we know what may need improvement.

Depends on the processor as well, not all 920s can run 16000. But the P6T V2 Deluxe would be the better version to get.

                  Thank you

I'd lean towards the RipJaws you show, haven't heard much good with the Perfect Storm set, only set I played with was a bust.

I see only 1 i7-920 that exists no others.
would this be good choice: http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=237
or is there something better/faster for my mbo ?
do I get cooler for these rams ?

I think products pages should show more products... no need for just 5 per page, and then have 3-4 more pages... but for me your site is always opening slowly, probably hosting/server issue...
could be some other changes also, but i'm not designer...
