  • Recommend for F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD & EX58-UD4P

    Greetings!!!

I have a Gigabyte EX58-UD4P with a early 920 CPU & just bought the F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD kit. I'm running the memory @ 1800--1.60V--9-9-9-21-2T--very stable there, but I wonder how far I can go with the memory timing? CPU timing is @ 20/180 for 3.6GHZ

At 1800 could try 8-9-9-24, if good progrees downward 8-8-8-24, 8-8-8-21 etc, then maybe even down to CL7. But if the first doesn't work can try 9-8-8-42, 9-8-8-21. If at a point seems semi stable, can give the CPU a bit of extra juice (voltage) and/or raise your tRFC a tad.

        Looking good--I've edged the timings down to 8-8-8-20. The rest of the numbers look like: tRC-27, tRRD-4, tWTR-4, tWR-8, tWTP-19, tWL-7, tRFC-60, tRTP-16 & Round-Trip-64. Any other suggestions?

Looking pretty good, might jot down your settings, and in the future when you have some free time you can always go back and play. I've got one box that ws my main system, then became secondary, was a net server for awhile now I just use it as a mailserver and backup system on the net....still play with it whenever they come out with a new BIOS update

Minor correction---tRTP is 4 & tFAW is 16. I tried to squeak a 7-8-8-20-2T & had a MAJOR crash--I'm going to try tuning the tRFC down a bit next--It's at 60 right now & will try in the 50's. Also--bumped the CPU to 1.3250V & upped the ram to 1.62V. The numbers I gave will run a very clean MemTest 86+ Version 4 for as long as I want it to run......I'm running the latest beta BIOS 10H--The newest BIOS info (beta stuff) is at: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/

Again, it's looking pretty good, looks like your advanced timings are pretty stable, to tighten your base timings, you might want a bit more voltage to the RAM and/or CPU. Also could give the system a slight OC

I'm going to bump the bclk up 2 tics to 182 & retest with the current settings--If that works, I'll try 185....

Had to back off the tRFC to 60 again---as soon as I did that 182 runs memtest...testing right now--am on the laptop--memtest is at 15% The nudge put QPI at 6.5GT's (running QPI on auto).

Good pass at 182--going for 185 right now.

185 pass no errors--looks like there is good headroom---only changes from my post last night are:
                          tRFC-60
                          mem V-1.640

MIPS per CPU (HT on--8 cores)
                          2386 Whetstone
                          4870 Dhrystone

I run BOINC at 90% to test the system--so we'll see what the temps/stability look like in the next 24 hours.

System froze after a hour of 90%+ run......I upped the tRFC to 62 & changed 8-8-8-20 to 8-8-8-21--retesting.......memtest+ run right now.

24 minutes into new test--slight reduction in MIPS with the change from 20 to 21 & the tRFC drop....

                              Current MIPS
