  • G.Skill Trident X compatibility

    Hello!
    I have a few questions. These are very important info I need to know before buying a G.Skill Trident X 8 GB DDR3 2400 MHz [PC3 19200] (F3-2400C10D-8GTX)

    1. If it runs at 1.65 V, will there be any problems with the Intel Core i5 4570. Heatsink upgrade isn't required?

    2. What will be the default/SPD speed written on the kit? 1600 MHz or 1866 MHz? Of course not 1333 MHz right? If it is written 1600 [instead of 1866] that is alright?

I was worried with the Gigabyte GA Z87 HD3 compatibility [Intel Z87 chipset]. According to another source Z87 chipset is alright with Trident X.

And also, please recommend the tests to run while buying. [and what will be the expected results]

I'll be glad and appreciate your help.
    Thank you.

    F3-2400C10D-8GTX Specs: http://gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c10d-8gtx
    SPD Speed: 1600MHz
So they default to DDR3-1600 until the XMP is enabled.

Vdimm does not affect CPU temperatures much, however VCCSA and VCCIO do. So you might want to manually tweak those, esp if your motherboard like many others goes way overboard with them when left at AUTO with higher frequency memory.
