  • Sad, defeated and hopeless :(

Hi all i'll try to be as descriptive as possible i've read as much and did as much research and to no avail i may just have missed something i'm hoping my new family of G.SKILL can help me.

I recently did some upgrades to my machine, i built this bad boy about 4 or 3 years ago. I've recently decided to upgrade my video card, Ram, hdd to an SSD and power supply.

My old specs: (Only gave info links to relevant items)

    Motherboard: Biostar th55B HD : http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/...n.php?S_ID=466
    Ram: OCZ 1333mhz 4gigs : http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/c...p1333lv2g.html
    CPU: i.5 3.33 ghz
    GTX: Geforce 9800GT
    PSU: Rosewill 500W AP-550X

Obviously this was a more than solid machine for what i did back a few years ago and its been really good to me so i can't even complain since i also didnt have much money to invest.

New upgrades as of November 2014:

    GTX: Nvidia GTX750Ti Overlocked 2gigs
    Ram: G.Skill f3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 16 gigs 4x4Gigs
PSU: Seasonic Gseries 650W 80 Plus Gold

so a few things to explain i bought all these items in newegg including the original specs. I made the mistake of not making sure the ram i was purchasing was the right kind and had bought the wrong ram before this one i had purchased the F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL now my Mobo says it Support 4-DIMM DDR3-2000(OC)/1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066 up to 16G maximum capacity well 1600 Overclocked so i did an RMA and had them swapped for the f3-10666CL9D-8GBRL because on the biostar website i saw that they support the sticks and tested them on that motherboard

G.SKILL Tested on TH 55B HD:

    G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBECO 2G DDR3 1600
    G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 4G DDR3 1333
    G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO 2G DDR3 1600
    G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ 2G DDR3 1600
    G.SKILL F3-10600CL9D-2GBNQ 1G DDR3 1333
    G.SKILL F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM 2G DDR3 1333

Now i know a few things about Custom building pcs but honestly when it comes to Ram i space out, on that list you can very well see it tested on F3-12800CL9D only it was the 2gigs and not 4gig sticks either way i was very confident buying the Red Texted Sticks which is what i have now. Also when i had first purchased the first pair of sticks and did Memtest it actually gave me a TON of errors and wouldn't boot to OS, only to Bios and Memtest after that no go.

Now on my current sticks they say "Plug and Play" so when i received them i was so excited only to be let down Now im trusting on this brand since i saw so many great reviews i hope we can get this fixed.

So when i first put in the sticks all 4 the computer wouldn't Boot, as in i would turn it on and i would see fans spin but nothing on my screen, this happened before with the other sticks so what i did was remove 2 and leave 2, i then saw my Post Screen, went into Bios saw that my mobo had indeed picked up the sticks and was running them at 1333mhz timings were the ones recommended once i allowed it to boot past the screen nothing would happen. it wouldnt boot to OS, so i checked Memtest and it would crash, it wouldnt progress at all i let it sit for about 10 mins and Nothing. My motherboard comes with something biostar calls O.N.E Overclocking on the bios i messed with the Voltage, even lowering the timings and nothing. I tried swapping sticks around to see if one was not working and they all did the same thing Bug and crash Memtest.

My motherboard see's the sticks and shows the timings and i'm even able to lower the Frequency and what not but i still cant Load into Windows i had to put my old 4gigs back in to load into windows and now i get Random BSOD and they're all Ram errors, i have to mess around with the Overclock utility to get to stabilize.

Here are a few Screen shots of my bios Hopefully they help:

With me messing around with the Ram sticks voltages and frequency i tested maximum settings and this is what i got:

Heres the Bios info on the ram:

These are the only voltage settings i am able to change:

The current ram i'm using and have been since i built the machine:

This is my Bios settings currently (Working) on my old Ram:

    Timings/info on my OcZ ram:

I really wan't to be able to use my 16 gigs did i buy the wrong ram again? And why wont it boot with all 4 sticks of ram on my Motherboard? I've tested all 4 Memory bays or whatever you call them they all work fine, and i've also tested the 4 Sticks of Ram and they all load to bios but nothing further.

I'm Currently Stationed in Mexico so buying and receiving upgrades is a big pain in the butt the only way is if i go to the states or a family member visits me, which is why im super bummed that this is the 2nd pair of sticks i buy and can't get my PC to run them

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?

Sounds like a compatibility issue. Try one module at a time to see if one performs differently than others.

    Keep me posted
