    Hello,

I have been having system crashes for several months now. My build was put together in July 2011 and ran problem-free til about 6 months ago. I updated all drivers and eventually ran Memtest x86 (v 4.0) and saw that I was getting errors. I also purchased the HCI Memtest version which also gave errors. However, I noticed that the errors seemed to also coincide with monthly dust build up in the case and MB. I clean out my case very frequently because it's a HAF 932 and it brings in a LOT of dust. Before today, the dust clean out always seemed to "solve" the crash problems. Today though, a dust cleanout did NOT resolve the issues and I'm still having memory errors AFTER a thorough cleaning.

In one of my earlier visits to this forum, I found the thread that discussed the basic settings for an AMD motherboard and attempted to make some changes. I wanted to post my current settings to make sure I have things right before requesting RMA.

    ---CPU CONFIG---
    OC Mode = Manual
    CPU Freq (MHz) = 200
    CPU Dynamic OC - Disabled
    PCIE Freq (MHz) - 100
    Spread Spectrum - auto
    ASRock UCC - Disabled
CPU Actice Core Control - Disabled
AMD Turbo Core Technology - Auto
AMD IO C-State Support - Enabled

    Multiplier/Voltage Change - Manual
    CPU Freq Multiplier - x16.5 3300 MHz
    CPU Voltage - 1.4750V
    NB Freq Multiplier - x12.0 2400 MHz
    CPU NB Voltage - 1.1500V
HT Bus Speed - 2400 MHz
HT Bus Width - 16 bit
    DRAM Freq - DDR3-1333

    ---Voltage Control---
    DRAM Volts - Auto
    NB Volts - Auto
    HT Volts - Auto
CPU Line Load Calibration - Auto
    CPU VDDA Voltage - Auto
    PCIE VDDA Voltage - Auto

Need to RMA or do more testing/tweaking?

    Thanks!!

    Try raising DRAM to 1.55

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

These two values are too high, lower them and see if it is more stable:

      NB Freq Multiplier - x12.0 2400 MHz -> x10.0 2000MHz
      HT Bus Speed - 2400 MHz -> 2000MHz

      Thank you

Thank you both. Will set DRAM volts to fixed 1.55, NB Freq to x10.0 2000 MHz, and HT Bus to 2000 MHz. Will post back results in about a week or less if still having issues.

Still locking up and crashing with those settings. I have not seen memory errors as before, but still unstable. No BSODs, but three freeze-ups and one auto-reboot this morning.

          What next?

Did you try the latest memtest86+? Memtest86 is not as good.

            Thank you

Yes, the version I use is Memtest86+ v4.20 which is the latest version I am aware of.

I've also used the HCI Memtest which is a paid program. I've received errors from both Memtest86+ and HCI Memtest just prior to starting this thread. After making the suggested adjustments above, I'm getting very frequent system lockups/crashes, but I've yet to see a memory failure from Memtest86+ with testing immediately after a crash. As of right now, I'm not working with the HCI program due to the time involved. I'm currently working from a laptop as the desktop machine won't run long enough to work from.

I want to be sure this is in fact a memory module problem and not a MOBO or other component, but I don't have another machine to try these sticks in.

Shouldn't have problems at all with that memory kit, go ahead and send them in for RMA exchange.

                  Thank you

Ok, will do. Thanks for your help!

One question though... I have two of these kits. Do I need to do TWO RMA requests? Or can I list the serial numbers of all four modules?

One RMA number is fine, list all serial numbers being returned.

                      Thank you

Please disregard last post... Finally found a response email from 8/16 with RMA number assigned. My bad...
