  • 8GB DDR3 1866MHz RipjawsX

    Hi,

Why does my bios only see this as 1333MHz? I bought a matched pair of 8GB units and no matter which of the four slots on the motherboard they go into, the bios reports that they are running @ 1333MHz.

The system originally came with 2x2GB Hynix PC12800 DIMMs which the bios correctly recognised @ 1600MHz.

    Dell Vostro 470
    Intel i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz
    Dell Motherboard model 0YJPT1 A00
Chipset Intel Ivy Bridge Rev 09
    Southbridge Intel H77 Rev 04
    LPCIO ITE IT8772
    Bios: Dell A06 Date 5/25/2012

I've checked, and Dell has no bios updates for this model yet.

    Appreciate any advice

If it supports 1866 you should be able to go into BIOS, enable XMP and select the 1866 profile....by default most all mobos default to setting DRAM at 1333 or 1600

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
