  • Ares 1866 and Gigabyte 990FXA

Not new to builds, but never did much with overclocking/tweaking. Just want my ram to run at the rated speed, and I hear that I need to set it manually. I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, AMD FX-8150 and Gskill Ares 16GB (2x8) DDR3 1866 (PC14900). Ram is of course running at 1333 in auto. Thanks for any help.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS, then enable DOCP in the BIOS and select the 1866 option

      system voltage

I checked the bios and it's the latest release. Found EOCP, not DOCP, but figured that was it since there was an option to select 1866, however when I did, it then warned that the system voltage wasn't correct. Not sure what to do with that so... still stuck at 1333 for now :-)

What voltage did it reference if any? Can manually take the DRAM voltage up + 0.05 and the CPU/NB up + 0.10
