  • F2-8800CL5Q-8GBPI problem with Asus Rampage Formula X48

Pros: Good looking. Nice heatsink. Does a much better job than the standard ones found on most memory.

Cons: Doesn't work at any speed. Two modules failed memtest86+. System restarts halfway through Windows startup with any number of modules in any slot on the board.

Other Thoughts: Would be great memory if it worked. I have a Rampage Formula with the latest BIOS. 4x2GiB of PQI DDR2-800 works just fine. G.Skill is the only memory brand I've ever had problems with in any board.
we will test Asus RF motherboard. we will keep it update if we have any news

just did a quick test on this motherboard, there is no problem to run DDR2 1100 8GB F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI x2.
    bios version 0403. CPU E8600, voltage 1.9v.

The first set was replaced by NewEgg. The second set still shows over 25000 errors in less than 2 minutes of running memtest86+. Windows is able to boot with this second set (the first set had so many errors the system would halt halfway through the boot process), but any stress on the sytem causes a crash. Prime95 fails within 30 seconds of starting stress testing with "Blend" mode.

I just installed 8 gig 8800PI memory with it set to 1066. I have a QX9770 with Rampage bios 0408. Dimm voltage is 1.9 and timings are 5-5-5-15. How do I get to 1100 MHz?

you'll have to overclock your FSB frequency to 440 to run with DDR2 1100
