  • Simple Compatibility Question

Hi, I built a computer with MSI P7N SLI Platinum nForce 750i Mobo a few years ago. However one of the F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ 2x2gb sticks that I had bought was defective. I never bothered to get it replaced and have just used one of the 2gb sticks all this time. I'm about to upgrade to Windows 7 and was wondering if I could just buy a 2gb F2-6400CL5S-2GBPQ and use it with my existing 2gb stick in my mobo.

    Thanks!

Should be no problem, those are good sticks, (also GSkill can RMA a single or the entire set)

Will want to contact rma@gskillusa.com or rma@gskill.com (world) for a RMA number - the basic info on procedures can be found at:

    http://www.gskill.com/rma.php

If going to Win7 64 that would give you 4GB usable (Win7 32 bit will allow about 3.25 of your 4GB) and if you RMA, when you get it back that would give 6GB (well worth it) w/ 64bit

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Great! Thanks a lot. I am going to get Windows 7 64 bit, buy another 2gb stick, and RMA my broken one. So I will end up with 6gb! Thank you!
