  • How high can 9600 PI series OC?

This is a 2 fold question:

    1) I have a Gigabyte ep45-ud3p rev 1.6 mobo and have successfully oc'd my F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI to 1333 with 5-5-5-15 timings. It is great memory. How much higher will this memory typically go?
    2) My mobo decided to stop functioning on dual channel. I can still single channel to work fine. How much difference does it make in overclocking with 4 gigs in the single channel mode? I am aware of the 50% theory, I am talking practical not theoretical difference.

    Thanks

So far with my Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and E8600 CPU set at 4.1 GHz w/10x multi, 410 FSB, I have mem set to 1365 stable with memory cooler. Went to 1400 and became unstable after 30 minutes. Memory voltage set to 2.2 Timings 5-5-5-15.

      1) just depending on what voltage and timings you set to.

      2) a slight decrease in bandwidth, so it's like having DDR2-1066 instead of DDR2-1200.

I suggest replacing the motherboard if dual channel no longer works.

      Thank you
