  • tRFC in nanoseconds???

I'm using G.Skill Pi 1100 RAM with my Gigabyte motherboard. The BIOS doesn't allow entry of the tRFC settings in clock ticks, instead it gives several choices in nanoseconds. I've never seen this before and wondered if yall had. And also would like a suggestion on what settings not only for myself, but in helping others with similar choices.

I suppose a variation of the formula to calculate many timing settings could be modified to remove the step of converting back into clock ticks???

Anyway, your thoughts? Below is the choice in BIOS I'm given. The "Auto" settings which will plug in the 800MHz settings in most timings, will put 127.5ns in this field.

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
    RAM: F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI 2 x 2GB DDR2 - actually running this at 800 with the JEDEC 266 settings of 4-4-4-10 16
The SPD data shows tRFC for these modules to be:
    533 @ 68
    400 @ 51
    266 @ 34

Yep, Gigabyte uses nanoseconds while ASUS uses clock ticks. It simply depends on BIOS.

DDR2-1100 should be set to 127.5ns, 195ns for 4 sticks.

    Thank you
