  • G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) - Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK and ASRock P45TS not working

I need help, I've been struggling with this new set of G.SKILL memory that I bought thru newegg.com for the last 2 weeks.
    This is the memory stick I bought: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK

It doesn't matter what I set my Bios settings to. I've try setting my System Memory Multiplier to 3.20B for DDR2-1066
DRAM Timing to tCL 5 - tRCD 5 - tRP 5 - tRAS 15, set DRAM Voltage to 2.1V and change Command Rate CMD to [2]
As outlined on your form: http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=1169

When I try to clean install Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, I'm alwasy getting a blue screen with errors that install has to halt to prevent system damage....

What should my settings be to be able to install Windows OS.

Here are screen shots of my Asrock P45TS Bios:

Also try mounting memory on GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
          http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128359

Following directions as outlined on forum: http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=1169
          Getting exact same install errors.

Just for kicks, I pop in a couple of Kingston SDRAMs:
          (Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 Desktop Memory Model KHX8500D2K2/4G).
Installed Windows OS without any problems.

I do not exactly have love for AsRock boards as somehow they tend to lie sometimes on voltages, but since you cannot even boot to windows to check kinda hard.

Your problem is in 'NB Core' voltage. More the throughput / translation to CPU<-MB->Memory larger voltage the NB needs also. I'd try with between 1.30v-1.42v. Although Intel specs P45 on 1.21v, but well.

            I also would add the:
            DRAM CH0(& 1) tRD: 8
(should clear errors, if the blocks just are fine)

(plus, I have absolutely no clue, wth, is RCOMP so not gonna go there.)

Thanks AMD/ATI for banning legit customers who asks questions of your screw-ups:

DRAM tWR 8, DRAM Voltage 2.10V are the only changes I see necessary.

Since you said you tried it on the other board as well and had the same issues, try testing each memoyr module individually. That will give you an idea whether a stick is bad. Please keep us posted on the results and we will be able to further assist you.

              Thank you
