OK I been remoding this and moding that for about two weeks now, I am finally and mean I am finally done. Got everything installled plumbed the whole nine yards and its done! Its living breathing and ready to do some serious gaming.
This will be my main rig at home except for trips that's where my Sager NP8662 comes into play. Anyways here is the progress on the GTX 480 as I cleaned it and then installed the Koolance VID480 GPU Block to it. Temps went from idle 48c to awesome 35c, but that's not the kicker its load temps of 95c went to a jaw dropping 49c stable!
The heart of it all took some pondering on how I was going to route all the tubing to maximize turn radious and heat transer. I went with my current battle plan and that was pump/res - GPU/GTX480 - 120 radiator - CPU 17-980X - 240 radiator and back to the pump/res. What this did was allowed me to use the natural flow of heat up through the case, the tubing essentially does the same it chases the heat up and out, it works wonderfully!
All in all water-cooling has been a excellent experience and now totally sold on it. Certainly not for a budget minded system, but a custom built loop will destroy any prebuilt Radiator/Pump/Block combo out there. Also my pump and fan combination are only working at 50 percent power and keeping these temps easily well in check!
