Hi, as posted here: http://www.gskill.us/forum/forum/pro...-a-990fxa-gd80 I'm looking for the best RAM for a MSI 990FXA-GD80 MB. Can you help me realize why 2133 ones are not listed on "G.Skill RAM Configurator" ?
This is my current build:
cpu: FX-8150
mb: MSI 990FXA-GD80 (MS-7640) v2.2 it has a v13 BIOS 01/28/2013
ram: 12GB (3x4GB) 1866mhz Corsair Vengeance
gpu: R9 270X 2GB
psu: 850w Thermaltake
os: win 8.1

Willing to upgrade RAM, CPU, GPU. I expect running a stable & reliable high quality rig intended for office use rather than gaming. Prefer to avoid troubles messing with OC functions if possible.
Given the fact that MSI is advertising DDR3 2133 support for their 990FXA-GD80 MB however some folks reported some issues on this forum back in 2011 having to manually set basic timings and DRAM voltage with such high frequencies memories.
Today last BIOS available at MSI support is v13.6 (2015-06-15) perhaps things have changed now?
Thanks in advance !
