I have a few Phoenix Pro drives mounted in a backplane configuration. The activity LED for the individual drives does not blink when there is drive activity.
This is a bug.
I have tested this with several different Supermicro SATA backplanes and other so-called "mobile racks." I am not having this problem with any other hard drive, including other manufacturers' SSD hard drives.
It should be noted that this is not the same thing as the hard drive activity indictator for all system drive activity located on the motherboard.
