    Try CPU-z or Everest. Many programs will show DDR2-800 since that is the maximum default for that motherboard, so if it reads based off the motherboard, it will only read up to DDR2-800. If it POSTS at DDR2-1200, it's running DDR2-1200.

    Everest Ultimate would also give you benchmark speeds so you can test different settings to see what is actually faster rather than going by eyeball guessing.
