  • RIP JAWS F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH with Asus Rampage Extreme X48

    Hi everyone.

    My Hardware:

    RAM: RIP JAWS F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH
    MB: Asus Rampage Extreme X48
CPU: Intel Quad Core Q9550 E0
    PSU: OCZ StealhXStream 600W
GPU: EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SSC 55NM.

My question is how can i overclock it stable?

At stock speed XMP 1600/7-7-7-24-2T/1.6V works flawlessly.

    Before the Rip Jaws, i had 2x1GB OCZ3P13332GK 7-7-7-20 @ 1.8V.
With the OCZ Ram, i was able to clock my cpu from 2.83 to 3.89 with no problem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QlvLmUMIEg 1:04 you can see that.

Prime95 stable and also memtest-NO errors.....!

With the Rip Jaws anything above 1645 MHz, FSB 1645, CPU 3495 MHz, gives me a lot of errors.

    Can anybody help me please?

Thank you very much in advance.

Could disable XMP and put int he timings and speed manually to 1600 then increase the OC on the CPU, having them tied together at 1-1, the 1645 may be all you can get out of the sticks at CL7. Coud also try loosening the timings to a loose CL7 or tight CL8

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.

Hmmm, there are a lot of settings in bios....I've tried some CL8 settings with everything on manual, FSB 450, but i had to downgrade the RAM which i did not like it, but still with errors.

My goal is to bring it to at least 1700MHz!
Can you provide some detailed help?

If not, I'll go back to OCZ.

You see, i have a MOBO designed for overclocking not for stock speeds, right?!

      Thanks a lot again

I have tried a lot of settings, nothing seems to work. I think that above 1645 will not work properly.

Post up pictures of the BIOS and we can see what may be set incorrectly.

          Thank you

It's already too late. I have bought the OCZ3X16004GK Kit, which has a second XMP Profile 1777MHz.

I made a mistake with G.Skill 'cause is designed for LGA1156(LOW Voltage) and i need for X38/X48 chipset.

            Thanks anyway
